Preventive Maintenance Plans

Annual care plans for peace of mind

Annual maintenance plans bundle the seasonal tune-ups your equipment needs (spring AC, fall furnace) into a single yearly subscription, plus add priority emergency dispatch and discounts on any repairs needed during the year. The math works out favourably for most Halton Hills homeowners with both heating and cooling — typically saving 15–25% versus paying for individual tune-up visits, plus the operational benefits of scheduled service and faster emergency response when needed.

We offer maintenance plans for residential customers with heating only, cooling only, or both. We also offer commercial maintenance contracts (covered separately on the commercial HVAC page). Plans are non-binding — you can cancel anytime if you decide it's not worth it.

Who benefits from a maintenance plan

Worth considering if:

  • You have both a furnace and an AC — bundle pricing typically beats individual tune-up costs.
  • Your equipment is over 5 years old — annual maintenance becomes more important as systems age, and priority emergency response matters more.
  • You travel, vacation regularly, or have a second home — scheduled maintenance happens reliably without you having to remember to book it each season.
  • You value predictable costs — flat annual fee instead of ad-hoc service charges.
  • You'd benefit from priority emergency dispatch — particularly for households with elderly residents, infants, or anyone medically vulnerable to extreme temperatures.
  • You want documentation for warranty validity — manufacturer warranties typically require documented annual professional maintenance. Plans provide automatic documentation.
  • You're pre-emptively planning equipment replacement — plan customers receive priority pricing on replacement quotes and installation scheduling.

What's included in our maintenance plans

Our standard residential maintenance plan includes:

  1. 01

    Two scheduled tune-up visits annually

Spring AC tune-up (March–April) and fall furnace tune-up (September–October). Each visit includes the same thorough inspection and component testing as our standalone tune-ups — no shortcuts because you're on a plan.

  2. 02

    Priority emergency dispatch

Plan customers move to the front of the queue for emergency service. During peak demand periods (cold snaps, heat waves), this can mean same-day service when other customers are looking at 24+ hour waits.

  3. 03

    Parts and labour discount

10% discount on any parts, repairs, or replacement equipment quoted during the plan year. The discount alone typically pays for the plan if any repair work is needed during the year.

  4. 04

    Filter replacement included

Standard filter replacement at each maintenance visit included. Premium filters (high-MERV, custom sizes) at additional cost.

  5. 05

    Documentation

Detailed service records maintained — useful for manufacturer warranty validation, resale documentation, and tracking equipment lifespan over time.

  6. 06

    No emergency dispatch fee

Standard emergency service calls have a dispatch surcharge for plan customers waived. Repair costs apply if work is performed; the dispatch itself doesn't have an additional fee.

Maintenance plan pricing

Standard residential plans:

- Heating only (furnace or boiler): $199/year
- Cooling only (central AC or heat pump): $179/year
- Heating + Cooling combined: $269/year (most popular)
- Heating + Cooling + Heat Pump: $329/year (heat pumps require both heating and cooling component checks)
- Plans for homes with multiple systems (e.g., main heating + secondary mini-splits): pricing scales with system count

Compared to paying individually for two tune-ups ($149 + $159 = $308), the heating + cooling plan saves $39/year on the visits alone, plus adds the priority dispatch and parts discount. For homes that need any repair work during the year, the 10% parts/labour discount alone usually exceeds the plan price.

Frequently asked

Maintenance Plans questions

Are maintenance plans actually worth it?

For most Halton Hills homes with both heating and cooling — yes. The plan pays for itself in two ways: (1) bundle pricing on the tune-ups themselves vs paying separately, and (2) the 10% parts and labour discount on any repairs typically exceeds the annual plan cost if any service is needed. The non-financial benefits — priority emergency dispatch, scheduled visits that happen reliably, complete documentation — add additional value.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Our plans are non-binding. You can cancel before the next renewal at any time. We'll remind you when renewal is approaching so you can make an informed decision rather than auto-renewing without thinking.

What's covered if my furnace breaks during the year?

Plan members receive priority emergency dispatch (faster response time during peak demand) and 10% off any parts and labour during the visit. The plan itself doesn't include unlimited repairs — you still pay for the parts and labour, just at the discounted rate. Some HVAC contractors offer 'all-inclusive' plans that include unlimited repair work — these typically cost 2–3x more annually and rarely make economic sense for residential customers.

What happens if I miss a scheduled tune-up?

We reach out to schedule each tune-up during the appropriate window (spring for AC, fall for furnace). If timing doesn't work, we reschedule within the season. If a visit is missed entirely, we make it up in the following season. Plans are flexible — they're meant to ensure maintenance happens, not to penalize customers for life getting in the way.

Do plans include things like duct cleaning, humidifier service, or air filtration?

Standard plans include filter replacement at each maintenance visit. Humidifier maintenance (annual evaporator pad replacement) is included for plan members at no additional cost beyond the part. Duct cleaning is not included (and we generally don't recommend it routinely anyway — see our duct cleaning page). Air filtration system maintenance (HEPA cabinets, electronic air cleaners) can be added to the plan for a small additional fee.

Will my warranty stay valid if I have a maintenance plan?

Yes — and the documentation often matters. Manufacturer warranties on residential HVAC equipment frequently require professional annual maintenance, with records documented. Plan members receive automatic documentation that satisfies warranty requirements. Customers who handle their own maintenance often face issues with warranty claims when components fail.

Can I add the maintenance plan after I bought the equipment elsewhere?

Yes. Our maintenance plans are available regardless of who installed your equipment. The first visit serves as both a tune-up and a baseline inspection — we document the equipment's current state, note any pre-existing issues, and start the plan from a known starting point.
